Jesus speaks in parables to the crowd, but explains everything to his disciples (and those with them) in private.
Here are some questions for personal application: Where is my heart? Am I reading/hearing God’s word? And if so, am I open and receptive to God (soft-hearted), or am I not open, not teachable, full of pride, and not letting God’s word penetrate my heart (hard-hearted)? Additionally, if you are a Christian, are you sharing the Gospel with others?
