Christmas at the Hicks

smiling at his new friend, Liam- we think they are destined to be best buds.
Hello baby Liam.
Griffin had no nap Christmas Day, and he is used to his nap. Around 6:00 he crawled up on the love seat with me, snuggled up against me and fell fast asleep! It was so sweet. He had had a very busy day.
The ladies in the kitchen..I love my mom and mother-in-law.
the best moms in the world!
showing Meemaw and Papa my new book.

all I need is a cowboy hat!

Tyler's new boots my mom and dad got him.

Christmas Eve service
I love reading with my Poppa. He'll read me the same books over and over again.

This Christmas was very special to us. It was special because we got to have Christmas at our house! My mom and dad got to come and stayed with us for a week! It was splendid and such a blessing to have them here. Of course it went by faster than I expected, which it always does. Tyler got to spend some quality time with my dad, which they both enjoyed and Griffin got to spend lots of time playing and reading with his Poppa and Naunie. My mom made him a sweet blanket with a big buck on it and Griffin LOVED IT! He loves deer. They also got him a tent and a camouflage chair from Cabellas that he loves. And also some new bedding for his big boy bed he'll move into soon.
Tyler's family came on Christmas Day and spent the day with us. It was so nice to have everyone here! Meemaw and Papa and Pa got him a riding horse on springs called "Blaze" that Griffin went crazy for. He wanted to climb up on it and ride it as soon as he pulled the blanket off of it. He is getting pretty good at riding it. It came with a fake carrot to feed it and a comb to brush his mane with.
So Griffin had a very fun Christmas. He did go see Santa, but wasn't so sure about him, and when I placed him in his lap he wailed so loud that I felt pretty bad. He was so mad about being in Santa's lap that he was pulling his hair. Thankfully the lady took the picture real fast and I grabbed him up. The picture is hilarious though and you can see on facebook. Next year we plan on doing Santa with him, maybe he'll understand it more then.
Thank you, Mom, Dad, Peggy, Steve, Tobe, and Uncle Mitch for coming to our house for Christmas! And thank you for all the gifts as well! God has truly blessed us with an amazing family and we are so, so thankful.
I really feel like this Christmas we were thinking of Jesus a lot more than in the past. It was because Griffin kept reminding us of him. Yes, Griffin. He LOVED the navity scene and we got to teach him the Christmas story day after day and remind him of who that baby was he kept stealing from the navity scene. He ended up breaking one of the wise men, but that's ok. We were thankful he was so interested. He kept saying "JESUS!" We also loved going to the Christmas Eve service at church with my mom and dad.
And we also got to see our sweet friends, Will and Alyssa Laing, and meet their sweet baby boy, Liam for the first time! Such a blessing! Griffin loved Liam and Liam loved Griffin! it was so fun to watch them together!
Merry late Christmas from the Hicks family in New Mexico!
