MMA

Well it's Sat. and Tyler is about to head to his hobby of choice these days-Mix Martial Arts practice. I'm sure everyone knows his obsession with UFC, but now, for the past oh...2 months I reckon he has been attending this MMA class. HE LOVES IT! It's so funny. He goes every Sat. morning from 10 am- 12 pm. Actually, he doesn't get home until around 12:30 or so because he says he stays talking to all the guys or doing some extra practicing. Anyways, he'll get home and talk about what happened and who he tapped out, who tapped out him, how many bruises he has, and what new move he learned that day. Then I get to see all the newly fresh bruises on top of the old ones from last week that have yet to go away. He does not mind these blueish black marks upon his legs, arms, and hip area. However, his wife does! I told him I don't understand why those guys have to kick him so hard if they're just practicing. He says it just happens.
So he's leaving to go get beat up.
He says "You've got to get beat up to learn anything"
I guess he has a point. I just know Griffin is going to end up being this MMA fighter or wrestler fighting champion... haha. maybe not....

hey girl. MMA is the ultimate sport. D and I have been following it for the past few years. It is a constant reminder to me of how hard we must train for the battle that rages against us. To be ready in and out of season. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.Eph 6:12 It is worded in the message like this: "This is no afternoon athletic contest that we'll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels." I will not be submitted to or tap-out to the Devil! It is the Ultimate Fighter Championship. We have to be trained in more than one area. We need to pray, worship, read the word, know the word, fellowship, discipleship, etc. We've got the reach advantage :) "You've got to get beat up to learn anything." Amen. I've got wounds and bruises that remind me of who I am in Christ. Praise God that your husband is a fighter! He puts on the full armor of God and wages war against the enemy for his wife, son, family, church, and nation. First in the spirit, then in the natural. There has been an awakening of the warriors. Rise up from your slumber! Do not grow weary, do not lose heart and faint.
