1st birthday

Not much to blog about today, I am, however, about to give Griffin his first birthday soon and I have a favor to ask any mothers who read this that have ever given a first birthday for their baby. Do y'all have any tips, suggestions, or advice to give from y'all's experience? Anything would be appreciated! Thanks!

Let them eat their own cake, but do this last. You kind of lose their attention once the cake is brought out. So excited for little Griffin.

hmm...here's my tips:

1) Plan the party in between the two naps. And plan on keeping it short and the festivities rolling. (I think I went overboard on the activities. Lunch, Cake, Pinata breaking, Pumpkin decorating, etc.. It ran 2.5 hours and that was without opening gifts!)

2)Make sure you remember to take family pics of the three of you. and some cute ones of grif by himself. we were so caught up in entertaining our 40 guests we never got a family pic!

3)don't worry about expensive, fancy decorations. keep it simple (the party take home bags too). All kids love helium balloons!

4)take time to enjoy it with your baby...it goes by fast and you don't want to miss the special moments b/c you are stressed about party details.

All things i learned from our party last year. hope this helps!
