Getting Away to Snyder

For the 4th Tyler and I ventured out to the wilderness with his family. We always love going to the "Cary Place" as they call it in Snyder, TX. We drive through Lubbock to get there so we stopped and did some shopping last Thursday before heading out to the sticks. Tyler finally found some Chaco sandals that he's been wanting since we got married. We went to this place called Hideaway Mountain where they sell camping/Outdoors stuff. We love places like that (Gander Mountain, etc..) and we pretend we are really people who live in the mountains and roam free camping and exploring rivers. Haha.. it's fun to pretend. :) Then we went to Bed Bath and Beyond, which is where I pretend that I am the best housewife and discover new things I think I need for our house, but really would never use. As you can see we turn into the perfect "American Consumer" when we do this to ourselves (taking ourselves shopping). We told each other that we had a list and we were sticking to it and that if one of us got sidetracked and wanted to stay in one store longer than we intended then we would guide each other along and head for the door. It worked quite nicely I will have to say. We had to get Tyler a new pillow since he left his accidently in the hotel they stayed at on the Dallas Daze trip. But we found his exact one on clearance so the Lord is good. We then headed to Mardel's where we probably stayed the longest gazing at tons of books we want to read on top of tons we already have at home that we havent read. Our mission: get Mitchell a birthday book and get out. We did accomplish the mission at hand. We decided on Vintage Jesus by Mark Driscol and some other man. I think he liked it. I started to read it while in Snyder and it was very interesting.
Next, we headed to TJ Max which was right there by Mardell's. This time we just wanted to get new swimsuits for our vacation to Cancun. We got em and got out. (I love TJ MAX, Ross, Marshall's) It was good for me to leave right when I decided on a bathing suit and not look anymore. Tyler does not like those stores. He thinks they are like gigantic garage sales because they are so unorganized and messy.
After that we were done! We were tired and ready to get out of the city. We headed for Snyder!
We spent 3 days in the good 'ole middle of nowhere and it was very relaxing and fun to see family. Blake and Brooke came with Hudson and Haddon and that made for lots of excitement! Tyler enjoyed fishing as always with his dad and brothers and I enjoyed visiting with Brooke and Peggy and going on long walks watching for wildlife. It was sweet seeing Haddon (the baby) and cuddling and kissing him. Hudson is a sweet 2 year old now that loves to talk, play, and watch cartoons. We went and watched fireworks on Friday in Snyder at the park while sitting on blankets in the grass.
The weekend was great and like always we can't wait to go back.
Please keep Tyler's mom and dad in your prayers. A tornado hit their house in Denver City and took off the upstairs roof. They are both fine and living in a rent house while they do construction on their home. The Lord kept them in His hands through it all and they are doing ok.
Here are a few pics from the weekend.
